The International Conference of Secular AA announced on their website secularaa.com that George F. Koob, Ph. D. is the keynote speaker for the secular AA conference to be held in Bethesda, Maryland from October 30 – November 1, 2020. Dr. Koob serves as the Director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, and is an internationally known expert on alcohol and stress, and the neurobiology of alcohol and drug addiction.
Gregg O., the Host City Chair has put out a request for those who may be interested in speaking on a panel or workshop to contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org. He also welcomes any ideas you may have for topics that you would like to see covered.
The conference will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda Maryland, which is providing an excellent facility and room rates of $129.00 per night.
This is the fourth biennial International Conference of Secular AA. The first conference, known as the We Agnostics and Freethinkers International AA Conference was held in Santa Monica, California in 2014, the second conference known as the We Agnostics, Atheists and Freethinkers International AA Conference was held in Austin Texas in 2016, and the third conference known as the International Conference of Secular AA was held in Toronto, Ontario in 2018. Notice all the name changes!
